The Bailef was bred by Larry and Tracy Henderson in Missouri. He is sired by Gayfield's Court Scandal and out of Rambur Reflection. At 4 ½, Bailef moved to Texas to begin his life and riding career at the Lazy J with Janice Early.
Bailef is a stallion for all people. He is loved by children, adults, and seniors. When it comes to manners, Bailef is at the top of the stallion class. He can be hauled with mares and stallions and next to geldings without dividers. As a working ranch horse, Bailef is often used to pony/lead other horses and ponies. His willing temperament makes it possible to pony/lead mares in heat.
At shows, no one ever notices that Bailef is a stallion as he is a gentleman and extremely well-behaved. Bailef can be used for leadline, showmanship, and Jr. Trail when the rules allow. He is leading the nation in Jr. Trail with 5 different Jr. riders. Some of his junior riders ride him for the first time when they are at the show. He is very forgiving and adjusts quickly to different riders.
In addition to leading the 2006 standings in Jr. Trail, Bailef is in the Top 5 in Jr. Showmanship, Adult Western Pleasure, Adult Trail, and Adult Stock Seat Equitation. For Top 10 standings, Bailef is in Section B Stallions, Jr. Western Pleasure, and Adult Hunt Seat Equitation. In the new Ridden Pony classes, Bailef has entered 3 times and been Champion twice and Reserve Champion once. In California, Bailef was named the Ridden Champion over ponies and Cobs and performed at the shows' evening dinner presentation.
At the GCWPA's Fall 2006 Show, at halter Bailef was named Champion Stallion by both judges and Grand Champion Section B pony by one judge. Bailef just began his jumping career this spring. He is doing great with adult and jr. riders in the hunter classes. Bailef and his novice jr. rider won a dressage suitability class over many experienced dressage riders including a bronze medalist.
Bailef was ridden in a Craig Cameron Horsemanship Clinic. Everyone wanted to know what he was! Within the first hour, Bailef was used for all of the how-to demos and by the end of the clinic, many participants wanted one just like him. Craig ended the clinic by riding Bailef and standing on him in an open pasture for a photo shoot. (Pictured below)
Flying Diamond the Bailef is an ambassador for the Welsh pony through his participation in events outside of Welsh shows and by giving pony rides that bring smiles to many children's faces. He is the stallion for all people and has his own junior fan club. Bailef has been used as a lesson pony and has introduced cantering to several 6 to 10 year old beginner riders.
Bailef has won many championships and reserve championships in performance. He began the 2006 show year with a Reserve Championship at the prestigious Pin Oak Charity Horse Show in Houston, Texas. Bailef ended the show season by being named the Ridden Champion over ponies and Cobs at the Holiday Welsh Show in Pomona, CA. Bailef is very correct in conformation and has substantial bone. He is siring outstanding performance prospects that are correct, athletic, curious, friendly, and calm. Bailef is standing at stud in Linden, Texas and will have shipped semen available.
